Our vision: Closeness to art

In Halland, we have unusually close access to art – both geographically and in people's everyday lives.
We believe that art has an important role to play in society: it can spark reflection, create community and make room for what cannot always be explained – but can be felt.

Through Art Halland, we want to make the values of art visible to more people.

We want to make it easier to find art – but also let art find more people, in new environments, contexts and encounters.

Where place and art interact, stories emerge that strengthen Halland both as a living environment and as a destination.

By bringing together actors from the art world, municipalities, civil society, education and business, we want to create new ways of collaborating around art – to reach more people and contribute with its positive values.

We call it closeness to art.

We call it Art Halland.

About Art Halland as a project

Art Halland is a strategic development project, initiated and owned by Region Halland.
It is a long-term investment to strengthen Halland – both as an attractive place to live and work in, and as a vibrant art destination to visit.

By bringing together art actors, municipalities and the tourism industry in a shared platform, the project aims to promote sustainable collaboration, highlight the diversity of art life and develop communication about art throughout the region.

The work is not finished – on the contrary. It is an open and inclusive process that develops step by step, together with actors from all of Halland and beyond.

Art Halland is the place where art and society meet – and grow together.
